What are Affirmations?
Affirmations are short phrases that bring about positive thinking and make you feel empowered! These powerful affirmations have been created to bring out your best.
Why Use Affirmations?
Affirmations help you alter negative thought patterns and build a positive mindset. Affirmations can be used for any area in your life. This list was created with the empowerment of vegans and plant-based eaters in mind. Having a positive outlook is a real game changer whether you are new or already secure in the lifestyle. Of course, this list isn’t limited to vegans. These powerful affirmations apply to many different areas of life with a focus on being a leader, trusting yourself, authenticity and abundance.
When you believe something to be true or possible, you will act in accordance to that belief. Positive affirmations help you be more open to opportunities and possibilities. You are more likely to see paths that otherwise you would have dismissed as not possible – this will help lead you to your true self.
How to Create Affirmations:
When creating your own powerful affirmations, there are a few rules you should follow to make sure they are effective:
- Keep your affirmations in the present tense (I am, I do etc. )
- Only include positive words – rephrase affirmations to be positive if they aren’t. For example, don’t say “I am not sad” instead say “I am happy”
- State them as facts and leave words like “might” or “could” out of it.
- Believe and feel as if your affirmations are true whenever you recite, listen or write them
How to Use Affirmations:
There are plenty of ways to use affirmations. You can read your favourites daily. Place them in an area you travel frequently, like on your bathroom mirror or fridge and say them to yourself every time you visit.
If you prefer something more private, writing in (or reciting from) a journal is a great way to keep them personal. You may choose to write them out daily or read your existing list as needed.
Another option is to use an audio recording app on your phone to record yourself reading a list of your favourite affirmations. You can then play this recording as you get ready in the morning, commute or cook in the evenings.The affirmations in this post have been recorded for your listening pleasure – you can find it here or embedded at the bottom of this post.
Try a few different methods to find the ones that work best for you. Your affirmations will change according to what feels most important to you at the time. As you reach and accomplish those statements you also may want to expand on them or change them. Go with your gut and follow your intuition.

These are all wonderful affirmations! It would be neat to do a one a day challenge kind of thing and have a new affirmation every day for a year.
Yes! That does sound fun. There are so many different ways to do affirmations and incorporate them into your life.
These are great. I particularly love #4 on your list. Any time that we’re making a big change in our lives, transitioning to a new way of living, it can be overwhelming. After all, a change like going vegan has an impact on SO many different areas of your life. Rather than looking at the whole journey in front of you and allow it to discourage you, the key to success is to focus instead on the first steps. It may not seem like much now but those steps can add up over time!

I had never considered that vegans needed affirmations. I’m forwarding this to a vegan friend, and hopefully some of them will resonate with him. Being vegan is super important to him, so I’m sure they will be helpful.
I see so many lists for different causes or feelings, I thought it would be fun to make on tailored to vegans! There can be a lot of push back and negativity from people when you go vegan so staying positive is definitely an asset! I hope your vegan friend enjoys.
These are really good affirmations. I have been ‘ you can’t do that Sonia’ a lot of times in my life. Every day, I look at myself in the mirror and say ‘I can and I will’
